First of all, it is worth understanding how the spring pocket mechanism works. The springs in the mattress are placed in separate pockets, and each pocket can function separately. Therefore, the mattress as a whole does not flex under the weight of the human body, but the individual springs respond adequately to the body part above them. In addition, the Laval pocket mattress has 7 zones of support, which means that the springs in the individual zones of the mattress are adjusted to the pressure force of a specific part of the body. For example, the mattress works more gently on the head or feet than it does under the hips and shoulders. Lying on the mattress puts the spine in a healthy position.

Mattress with H3/H4 firmness
The Laval pocket mattress is a two-sided model with H3 medium firmness and H4 firmness. The rule of thumb for choosing a mattress according to your shape is that the higher the weight of the sleeper, the firmer the mattress should be. The H4 mattress has an additional coconut shell fibre insert on the side to add rigidity. The fibres have an above-average durability that prevents the liner from deforming even under heavy weight. However, if the sleeper experiences hip or shoulder pain after a night on the mattress, it is recommended to use the softer side (H3). The foam without the additional coconut liner will allow the lighter person to sink into the mattress freely.
